Matchy matchy

Two year olds are hard work.  It's not terrible, but I am constantly being tested and challenged by Miss LC.  When my sister-in-law told me about my niece's fashion habits, it was like a curse was cast.  I laughed at the time, commenting that my kids never minded what they are (or aren't) wearing.  Basically from that day on my daughter has insisted on wearing the same coloured or patterned t-shirt and shorts.  No dresses or skirts, not even twirly skirts *sniff*.  She is often a vision of pink from head to toe and temperature has no influence on her outfit of the day (OOTD).

This girl just wants to have fun...in leggings...in 34oC heat.

Having spent a fair amount of time with my head in home styling and decorating magazines, reading blogs, watching restoration shows (you get the idea, I am into it), I like to keep a bit of order around the house.  Each addition to the family (be it child or dog) has tipped the scale more towards the chaotic end and most of the time our house looks like a hoarders home after a clean out.

My issue with the matchy matchy outfits is how Miss LC goes about finding her OOTD.  EVERY item of clothing is strewn across the floor if I am not quick enough to help out.  My dearest friend has come up with the best solution: buy everything in the same colour.

A two years version of efficiency .

There is a mystical cupboard in her room which we think was once an external entry.  When we moved in it was fully enclosed and has always been under utilised.  I now have plenty of motivation to get her built-in cupboard completed.  The plan is to install shelving, hanging space and a desk.  It should be ready in time for lots of new matching outfits.
